Established at its current location in 1981 as a Suzuki motorcycle dealer, JT Cycle has been under the same ownership and is rich in local motorcycle history dating back to 1947. The existing facility once served as a franchised dealer for Matchless, AJS, Royal Enfield, Triumph, BMW, and Honda.

The JT Cycle facility holds the oldest Michigan class “A” motorcycle dealer license in Calhoun County.

Jerry Merritt, the owner, has been involved in all aspects of the motorcycle business since 1957. He started at Van’s Bike Shop as a mechanic and then went on to Gibbon’s where he worked in Parts and Sales. In 1975, Jerry opened his own Honda dealership, MP Cycle in Albion. He later returned to Battle Creek and established JT Cycle.

Over the years JT Cycle has developed the reputation as the local motorcycle shop where honesty, integrity, and customer service are more than just words, but a commitment. Many cycle shops have come and gone since JT Cycle opened for business over 27 years ago, but we will be here in the long run, offering our customers what they have come to expect: honest, courteous, and knowledgeable staff and outstanding customer service.
